Happy Christmas, I s'pose.

I'm beginning to feel as though I ought to be locking myself in the flat until all of this holiday nonsense passes.

I was nearly trampled by a load of Christmas shoppers in Diagon today. It's bad enough people are oblivious to the world around them when there isn't patches of ice all on the road.

Forcing employees to take vacation-time is not a way to ensure that we don't lose our bleeding minds and go on a killing spree. It is however, a way to ensure that we never fully accomplish the goals we've set for ourselves by disrupting our train of thought a week at a time at four different points throughout the year.

I honestly wish I had words for the debauchery I recently witnessed.

At least the Ministry finally did something right by the ways of law-enforcement. Hope Carrows stays locked up good and long. Streets are that much safer without him.

Funny how all of these reformed Death Eaters are complaining about the security systems put into effect. It just seems to me that if they hadn't been stupid enough to join the cult in the first place, they wouldn't have needed to worry about any of it. Then again, if they really aren't doing anything wrong, they shouldn't be so fussy about it either.

It's remarkable how one can grow so bleeding accustomed to something, even if it's something you loathed and wished away more often than not. Without Cat around, things have been unbearably still and peaceful in the flat. And so help the first person to bring up that Muggle song about the parking lot. I will hex you into oblivion.


I need an animal that won't pester or destroy the place, but who is a bit more...present than the likes of a fish or something. Still need to get another owl... Maybe I'll take a trip into Magical Menagarie later this week.

As for the events of the evening, I think it's safe to say that clearly those working against us are still as incompetent as ever and really ought to think about rethinking what they've been wasting their time on.

M'bout ready to up and quit my job. Honestly. If it weren't for the fact that I don't know what the hell else I'd do if I wasn't doing research on interesting shite, I'd have left ten bloody years ago. So if anyone has any suggestions like, throw them my way as I'm about a centimeter away from blasting someone through the bleeding window...yes I know the building is underground, it's an expression.

I'm taking the weekend off. I don't ruddy well care what they try to tell me about giving notice and the like. It's not like anyone else follows procedures the way they're supposed to in that place. The lot of them can burn the fecking place down for all I care. I'm taking the weekend. Glad we've settled that.

I should take that time to maybe tidy the flat a bit...but I really think that defeats the purpose of taking the day from work.

And on that note, I'm off to find something for dinner.

There's something to be said when the highlight of your day is not that you had a break through in your research...it's not that you found a galleon in your room that you didn't know you had...it's the takeaway from the restaurant down the block.

Oh, and if anyone wants a mangy feline who kills owls eats clothing, brings dead mice into your bed and is a general pain in the arse...I know where you can get one.

Fecking mother of Merlin on a bleeding ruddy stick. Entire flat is in shambles and there is blood and feathers all over the bleeding place.

Apparently Cat and Ophelia got into a spat or somthing as Cat is covered in blood and all looking fecking proud of herself and I can't find that blasted bird anywhere! This is not what I needed to come home to after a day spent in the office. Or, well, ever for that matter. M'going to need to look through those stupid ruddy books on stains and house cleaning charms and...fecking hell.

Still haven't found Ophelia, but by the looks of things, I doubt she flew anywhere. She's likely to have a broken wing at the very least, not to mention whatever cu...

Have you ever felt like the entire bleeding world can't function without you?

Three days. I was on holiday for three bleeding days and that's including my travel day. Three days and I get called back in...What bleeding justice is there in the world?

In that time, there managed to be a complete disaster in my department, involving things that I shouldn't talk about. Let's just say that it had to do with my desk and the lack of potions-protecting charms that I foolishly didn't think I would need...

Not only this, but I came home to find out that the water leak at my flat, which my landlord assured me would be taken care of last week, had gotten worse. Brilliant. Cat is not pleased at all. Nearly clawed my face off when I walked in.

Then, on top of everything, I come home to find that the Minstry has lost it's bloody mind. Pardoning fecking Death Eaters is NOT what this country needs. What it needs is be working on ways to prevent what happened ten years ago from ever happening again. History has a way of repeating itself.

I need a fecking drink. Or seven.

I was bloody well better off in Milan.

It's remarkable really. How someone can be so smart and so bloody brainless at the same time. Honestly, I swear to Rowena, the imbeciles I work with are going to blow the entire bleeding department up with their stupidity. How bloody hard is it to read a fecking label on what you think is extract of lacewing fly before adding it to your fecking potion. Nearly lost half my research in the ensuing fire.

I'm fireproofing my desk before I leave tomorrow. I'm fireproofing and then going on holiday far away from the idiots I'm forced to interact with on a regular basis. And if it all goes to shite while I'm gone, they can explain it all because I'll be in Milan.

This week has been incredibly trying. I'll be happy to have a break from working coming up in the next few days. I think I'll take a trip or something. It's two weeks and all so...I haven't had a break like this in a few years. Who bloody well knows? I could do with some time away from England though.
