There's something to be said when the highlight of your day is not that you had a break through in your research...it's not that you found a galleon in your room that you didn't know you had...it's the takeaway from the restaurant down the block.

Oh, and if anyone wants a mangy feline who kills owls eats clothing, brings dead mice into your bed and is a general pain in the arse...I know where you can get one.

I'm going for a pint.

A pint's always a good thing. A cat, on the other hand, is horrible. Who would want one of those?

Dear lord, woman, get rid of it straight away! Dogs are better! They don't eat your clothes all while loving to cuddle.

Well I'm not just about to go abandon the blasted thing in the streets. Pain in the arse as it might be, I don't think it'd be right.

The chances of me getting a dog are slim and none, Black. They drool, they're noisy, they're clingy as all bloody hell. I don't need that kind of disaster living in my flat. Same reason I don't keep a bloke around.

So you'll abandon a person but you won't abandon a cat?

Excuse me? Last I checked I was the one left for dead

Having trouble seeing are we? You'd rather not abandon a bleeding animal than a human being.

Last you checked you what?

It's not the reading I had trouble with. It was the comprehending precisely what you meant by that. I don't abandon those who don't deserve to be treated with respect. And despite Cat being a pain in my arse she's stuck arou- she's still a right sight more respectable than most people I know.

Not important. Forget it.

How mangy, and how destructive is your cat, Dorcas?

Pretty foul as far as destructive goes. Can't leave for more than a few days at a time unless I want the entire place and other familiars torn to shreds.

And it's not entirely mangy, but it could probably do with a haircut or summat. Can't be worse than your husband though.

Yes, well, he refuses to let my opinions of his hair affect what he does with it.

I don't particularly want my house torn apart, but as I work from home, I don't suppose it would be too bad. James wants to get a cat for Harry, and since I gather you are looking for a new home for yours, I thought I'd consider it. I'll let you know.

There's always going at it with a pair of hedge trimmers while he's asleep. Just saying, o'course.

Right then. Lemme know as soon as you can as I'd like to be rid of the blasted thing.
